Scope of Program:

Visual Arts students at Alderson-Broaddus College begin their studies with foundation courses in art fundamentals, success in visual arts, drawing, printmaking, painting, photography, digital arts, sculpture and art history.  Students who choose the Digital Arts concentration focus on film, webmastering, media computation, computer animation and professional practices.  All students must complete four semesters of foreign language study.  Students must pass a portfolio review at the end of their first year of study and complete a humanities seminar and exit interview.  All students create a portfolio and senior exhibition.

Alderson-Broaddus College is affiliated with the West Virginia Baptist Convention and the American Baptist Churches, USA.  Merit and need-based scholarships are available, as are scholarships for children of American Baptist Church pastors, missionaries and full-time ministers.  Residents of West Virginia are encouraged to apply for state-sponsored grants and scholarships.
