Today, more than 191,000 salaried graphic designers work in all industries from advertising and publishing to technology. Because the graphic design industry has grown at such a rapid pace over the years, colleges and universities have kept up by adding graphic design programs to their list of offerings or by expanding existing ones.

Fortunately, a number of reputable organizations choose the best of the best each year. Princeton Review, U.S. News & World Report, and Forbes are just a few. Several factors help decide which schools deserve a spot on the “best” list including faculty resources, student selectivity, number of program offerings, peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, and financial resources.
