p>Graphic Communications students at Chowan University take core courses in digital imaging, color management, offset printing, digital photography, paper and ink, flexo applications and package design, interactive multimedia applications and color separation and reproduction. All students complete an internship. Students in the Digital Printing concentration focus on drawing, typography, graphic design, digital print production, database design and management and business information systems. Information Systems/Networking students concentrate on basic computer applications, networking and telecommunications, data structures and algorithms, analytic computing for business and business information systems. Students in the Package Design and Production concentration complete coursework in design marketing, drawing, advertising and sales promotion, package printing and corrugated and paperboard packaging applications. Print Management students focus on economics, management theory, financial accounting and business law.

Graphic Design students at Chowan University concentrate on drawing, figure drawing, 3D design, printmaking, painting, ceramics, art history, graphic design history, typography, color management, digital design, photography and illustration. Students must pass an annual portfolio review and must also pass a senior portfolio review in order to graduate. All students create a portfolio and senior exhibition.

A portfolio is required for application to the Graphic Design program. Leadership, merit and need-based scholarships are available. Qualified applicants may apply for the North Carolina Baptist Scholarship Program. North Carolina residents may apply for the North Carolina Need Based Scholarship.
