Scope of Program:
The College of Charleston's Computing in the Arts program offers concentrations in Art, Music and Theatre. The Computer Science Department runs this program. Students complete courses in computer programming, discrete structures, computer graphics, data structures and algorithms, calculus or pre-calculus, artificial intelligence, game programming, new media in contemporary art, drawing and art history. Students in the Art concentration complete a variety of studio art courses. Students in the Music concentration focus on music theory and music history. Students who choose the Theatre concentration take courses in theatre history, script analysis, acting, stagecraft and playwriting. Students in all three concentrations complete a senior seminar and create a capstone project.
Computer Science course lab fees may apply. Computer Science, merit and need-based scholarships are available. South Carolina residents are encouraged to apply for state-sponsored grants and scholarships.
