What Does Creative Arts & Technology Mean?
Creative arts & technology is a unique art form that combines traditional art with science, humanities, and the latest technology. Also called “CAT,” creative arts & technology prepares students to work in a variety fields from animation to engineering.
Coursework for Creative Arts & Technology Programs
Creative arts & technology students must take a combination of art, technology, science, and humanities courses. Students will be required to complete coursework in 2D and 3D Foundations, Drawing, #D Animation, Digital Imaging, and Video. History of Art, Calculus, General Physics, Computer Science, Economics or Psychology may also be required. Students may take a number of electives to round out their skill set. Just a few options include Media Culture & Theory, Motion Graphics, New Art and Design, Interactive Installation, and Contemporary Art. Although optional, students may complete an internship in art & technology.
What Can I do with a Degree in Creative Arts & Technology?
Creative arts & technology graduates have many career options. Some become Animators while others become display artists. Just a few popular job titles include Computer Artist, Digital Artist, Animator, Graphic Artist, Game Developer, Game Designer, Display Artist, Visual Effects Artist, Modeler, Researcher, Instructor, and Professor.
