Did you know.... In 2013 every movie nominated for an Oscar Award in the Best Visual Effects category had graduates from The Digital Animation & Visual Effects School (DAVE School at Universal Studios Orlando) in the credits. This year (2014), four of the five nominated films - The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Iron Man 3, The Lone Ranger, and Star Trek Into Darkness- included DAVE School graduates. Those 4 films alone employed nearly 70 DAVE School graduates last year.

Degrees Offered: B. F. A. Applied Media Arts with Concentration in Computer Animation, Traditional Animation or Graphic Design

Tuition Information: Undergraduate residents $6,240, nonresidents $9,360 for the 2011 – 2012 school year.  Tuition does not include annual fees of $2,120 for residents and $2,628 for nonresidents.

Scope of Program:

Students in Edinboro University's Applied Media Arts program may select the Computer Animation, Traditional Animation or Graphic Design track.  Students in all three concentrations begin their studies with core coursework in 2D, 3D and 4D design, color, drawing, photography, graphic design and animation.  Computer Animation students continue with courses in art history, rigging, compositing, 3D animation, 3D computer modeling and computer animation studio.  Traditional Animation students focus on art history, stop motion, experimental film, time-based media, animation production, animation studio and professional practices.  Graphic Design students concentrate on new media, typography, computer graphics software, publication design, corporate identity, movements and influences, illustration, book arts and graphic design studio.  All students create a senior project and portfolio.

Art, merit and need-based scholarships are available.  Pennsylvania residents are encouraged to apply for state-sponsored scholarships and grants.
