Scope of Program:

Emporia State University offers a Graphic Design concentration within its Art major.  Students begin their experience with foundation courses in drawing, 2D and 3D design, life drawing, art history and sculpture.  They must also complete a First Year Experience course and take an Art Forum course each semester.  Graphic Design students must pass a mid-program portfolio review.  Upper division students concentrate on graphic design processes and systems, advanced typography and art direction.  All students complete a senior project and create a portfolio.

Students who are residents of Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas pay a reduced tuition rate (currently $6,442).  Merit, need-based and arts scholarships are available.  Pay close attention to scholarship application deadlines; the cutoff date for some scholarships is as early as February 15 of each year.
