Scope of Program:
Graphic Design students at James Madison University must pass a portfolio review after completing foundation courses in computer graphics, typography and design methodology. They continue with coursework in intermediate and advanced typography, illustration, brand identity, web design, book design and package design. All students create a portfolio.
Art, merit and need-based scholarships are available. Applicants for art scholarships must submit a portfolio. Residents of Virginia are encouraged to apply for state-sponsored grants and scholarships.
