Tuition Information:  Undergraduate residents $5,256, nonresidents $18,960 for the 2011 – 2012 school year.  Tuition does not include fees of $1,498 per year.

Scope of Program:

Graphic Design students at Middle Tennessee State University complete foundation courses in drawing, 2D and 3D design and art history.  They continue with a sophomore seminar and courses in graphic design technologies, interactive design, typography, book arts, illustration, word and image, photography and computer-assisted art.  Students must pass portfolio reviews after completing the typography and word and image courses.  All students complete an internship and create a portfolio, senior project and senior exhibition.

Digital Animation students must apply to the program after completing 45 credit hours of study.  Students accepted into the program concentrate on 2D design, drawing, sight, sound and motion, new media communication, writing for digital media, field video production, 2D computer animation, 3D modeling and animation, compositing, digital photography, digital imaging, digital animation and electronic graphics for television.  All students must complete an internship and an art minor.
Art material fees may apply.  Merit and need-based scholarships are available.  Tennessee residents are encouraged to apply for state-sponsored grants and scholarships.
