Scope of Program:

Fine Arts and Graphic Design students at Norfolk State University complete coursework in design, drawing, computer applications in the arts, printmaking, 3D studio arts, art history, African/American art history, life drawing, painting, typography, computer graphics, photography, animation, character design and animation, computer animation production, commercial art, book design and graphic design research and experimentation.  Students must pass periodic portfolio reviews.  All students create a portfolio and senior exhibition.

Norfolk State University is a Historically Black University.  Art, merit and need-based scholarships are available.  Residents of Virginia are encouraged to apply for state-sponsored grants and scholarships.
