Scope of Program:

Graphic Design students at Northeastern State University must complete core courses in drawing, color, 2D and 3D design, watercolor, figure drawing, painting, printmaking and art history.  They continue with coursework in typography, illustration, publication design, web and motion design, computer applications in art and multimedia design.  All students create a portfolio.
Visual Communication students may choose the Photography Option or the Multimedia/Web Design Option.  Students in both options complete coursework in mass communication, 2D and 3D design, writing for media, broadcast production and graphic design.  Photography students concentrate on photography, digital photography and Adobe Photoshop.  Multimedia/Web Design students focus on typography, web design, interactive and time-based media and multimedia design.  All students in both options complete an internship and create a capstone project and portfolio.

Merit, need-based and leadership scholarships are available.  The Quad-State Waiver, which reduces out-of-state tuition, is available for residents of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Texas.  Oklahoma residents are encouraged to apply for state-sponsored scholarships and grants.
