Tuition Information:  Undergraduate residents $4,605, nonresidents $13,029; graduate residents $5,325, nonresidents $13,749 for the 2012 – 2013 school year.  Tuition does not include fees of $1,824 per year.

Scope of Program:

B. F. A. candidates at Stephen F. Austin State University begin their studies with core coursework in art history, drawing, and 2D and 3D design.  Digital Media students focus on graphic design, printmaking, photography, animation, interactive arts, time based media, motion graphics and professional practices.  All students complete a senior essay seminar and create a B. F. A. exhibition.

M. F. A. candidates who choose the concentration in Digital Media complete coursework in graduate studio techniques and media, art history, computer art, motion graphics, time based media and interactive arts.  All students create an M. F. A. exhibition.

Art lab fees may apply.  B. F. A. candidates must complete foundation courses and pass a portfolio review to be admitted to the major.  A portfolio is required with the application to the M. F. A. program.  Art, merit and need-based scholarships are available, as are graduate assistantships.  Texas residents are encouraged to apply for state-sponsored grants and scholarships; nonresidents may be eligible for tuition waivers if they live in the border states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico or Oklahoma.
