The “Top” animation schools and the “Best” animation schools may look a little different from list to list, but for the most part many top schools end up in the list of best schools, albeit for different reasons. The factors used to determine which schools belong on the “Top” list may be based on other factors such as convenience, affordability, job placement services, type of facilities, and variety of social groups. The factors used to determine if a school belongs on the “best” list may include number and types of program offerings, graduation and retention rates, peer assessment, faculty resources (student-teacher ratio), financial resources, and student selectivity.

Besides the factors used to assemble each list, another difference between “best” and “top” lists is the folks behind them! Princeton Review, U.S. News & World Report, and other similar entities typically compile “best” lists. Students, education bloggers, alumni, and others typically create “top” lists. As you may have noticed, what’s important when it comes to assessing schools is different between groups, but as stated, in most cases, the outcome is the same.
