If you’ve ever wondered how any given animation school makes it onto the “top schools” list, we might have the answer for you. Bloggers, students, alumni, media companies, and pretty much anyone who wants to create a “top schools” list can. Nevertheless, the one thing these folks have in common is, they all consider some of the same factors when selecting the top schools. Just a few factors considered include price, location, job placement, types of clubs and organizations, cultural activities, and student life.

The “best schools” lists are usually created by famous organizations and news agencies such as U.S. News & World Report and Princeton Review. To determine which schools belong on the “best” list, they typically consider other factors such as program offerings, graduation and retention rates, peer assessment, faculty resources (student-teacher ratio), financial resources, and student selectivity. While different factors determine which schools will make either list, not surprisingly, many schools end up on both lists!
