Although South Dakota is home to only 25 Title IV degree-granting colleges, nearly twenty-five percent offer programs for graphic designers. These schools can be found in large cities such as Sioux Falls, or small cities/towns such as Mitchell or Yankton. Just a few top schools include Mount Mary College and University of Sioux Falls.

South Dakota’s top colleges may cost as little as $3,000 per school year up to $20,000 or more. Fortunately, Title IV status means South Dakota’s 25 schools are eligible for federal financial aid programs. Title IV status also means each school worked hard for the privilege. Title IV schools must (1) have accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, (2) be in business for at least 2 years, (3) sign a participation agreement with the Department, (4) grant an associate's degree or higher, and (5) offer a program of at least 300 clock hours in length.

In addition to the factors listed above, students, along with ranking organizations, alums, and more, consider job placement services, variety of programs, types of clubs and organizations, class size, cost, and convenience.
