Degrees Offered: B. F. A. Art with Specialization in New Media; M. F. A. Art with Specialization in Video/Digital Media

Tuition Information:  Undergraduate residents $4,742, nonresidents $13,166 graduate residents $6,228, nonresidents $23,076 for the 2012 – 2013 school year.  Tuition does not include undergraduate fees of $2,647 or graduate fees of $2,406 per year.

Scope of Program:
New Media students at The University of Texas at San Antonio complete foundation coursework in art history, 2D and 3D design, drawing, painting, new media, photography, printmaking sculpture and ceramics.  They continue with courses in contemporary studio concepts and practice, contemporary art, sound, video, animation and new media for web.  All students complete a senior seminar and create a senior exhibition.

M.F. A. candidates in the Video/Digital Media program focus on art history and criticism, graduate studio seminars and independent studio work.  All students must complete a practicum in the visual arts and pass M. F. A. semester reviews, a candidacy review and oral examinations.  All students create an M. F. A. exhibition.
A portfolio is required with the application to the M. F. A. program.  Art, merit and need-based scholarships are available.  Military tuition discounts are also available.
