Scope of Program:

Graphic Design students at Virginia Intermont College take foundation courses in 2D and 3D design, painting, drawing, printmaking, life drawing and color theory. They continue their studies with coursework in studio arts, art history, typography, digital photography, illustration, history of graphic design and graphic web design. All students participate in art seminars, complete a senior seminar and create a senior exhibition.

Virginia Intermont College was founded by a Baptist minister. Students are required to attend 32 convocations in order to graduate. Art, merit and need-based scholarships are available, as are Virginia Baptist and Baptist scholarships. A portfolio is required for consideration for art scholarships. Residents of Virginia are encouraged to apply for state-sponsored grants and scholarships.
