What Does Virtual Modeling and Design Mean?

Virtual modeling and design is the process of creating virtual models of objects, humans, animals, etc., for use in virtual reality, simulation, or other applications. Virtual model and design artists use 3D modeling, animation, character design, world building, spatial design, and more to create virtual models. Virtual modeling and design is often used in the entertainment field, construction, architecture, interior design, planning departments, the automotive industry, science, and the medical field.

Coursework for Virtual Modeling and Design Programs

Students interested in a degree in virtual modeling and design have several degree options including Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Master of Art (M.A.), and Master of Science (M.S.). Some schools offer associate degrees and certificates. While an associate or certificate might be enough for some employers, most employers prefer a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Some internships offer a small stipend or salary, while others offer school credit only.
