The demand for 3D and FX artists has exploded in recent years. This is largely due to the significant growth of digital media and web-based platforms along with the increased affordability of hardware and software. 

In addition to this demand, careers in animation can be both exciting and rewarding. Animators get to contribute to a variety of creative projects designed to make an impact on their consumers. 

We analyzed the academic backgrounds of over 1900 current and former Dreamworks Animation employees who worked as animators, or in animation related jobs, at Dreamworks Animation. The percentages of the schools and colleges listed above represent the amount of current and former Dreamworks Animation animators that have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree from that institution. We listed only those schools and colleges above 1% in our analysis. In total, the 27 schools listed above represent 42% of the academic backgrounds we considered.
