Did you ever wonder what happened to the most famous reindeer of all after his famous ride? Well let's just say it wasn't all holly jolly silver and gold. Based on the classic 1964 stop motion television special, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, my main goal with this short was to stay as close to the art style of the original film as much as possible. I had already gained plenty of experience with stop motion over the years with the several short films I made, so it was obvious that I would make this short in that similar style as a way of perfecting my skills further and paying proper homage to the original classic. I used the Stop Motion Studio app in order to shoot the film and Adobe Premiere Elements in order to edit it. The entire film took me roughly about a week to make with the writing, buying of supplies, and voice acting being done from about December 17th-December 19th, and filming and editing commencing throughout the rest of the week until it was done and released on Christmas Day. It was quite a challenge to do stop motion within the course of one week, but I pushed myself quite a lot and while there are places I would like to go back and fix up, I'm proud of the overall product and feel that my love for the original special is strongly present throughout. I have enjoyed this project so much that I am considering making this into a trilogy of Rudolph shorts, coming out in the next two Christmases, following the events of this one. I hope you enjoy the work I put into this short film and am excited for more contests in the future!
