Thanks to advances in technology, new media, and an economy that has left companies vying for consumer dollars, businesses now spend billions on advertising and marketing. This has created a strong demand for top-tier graphic designers that are wildly creative, multi-talented, innovative, and tech savvy. To meet this demand, hundreds of U.S. schools have jumped on the bandwagon. This means, aspiring graphic designers don’t have to worry too much about finding the best graphic design programs to help meet their career goals.

With no less than fifteen thousand commercial businesses and a population nearing 125,000, the city of Hartford, Connecticut is rich with opportunities for artsy professionals pursuing careers in graphic design.  Local jobs are plentiful in this visually creative, commercial field.

Although a “top” school doesn’t automatically make the list of  “best” schools, and vice versa, somehow a large number of schools often end up on both lists. Other factors that may be considered include job placement track record, types of clubs and organizations, cultural activities, access to recreation, sports teams, class size, and quality of the facilities.

We all know that Harvard, Yale, the University of Chicago, Stanford, and MIT are all at the top of the list of World’s Best Universities. The results are everywhere! This not the case when it comes to other schools and programs. What this means is, it might take some digging to find out about the best schools for say, art, animation, or other similar majors. Fortunately, a number of ranking agencies exist, so with a little research, you can find out which schools are the best.
