Florida Game Design & Development Schools: Most Expensive to Least Expensive

Florida is now home to 223 Title IV degree-granting institutions. A Title IV school is eligible for Title IV federal financial-aid programs, which makes them more accessible to students with financial need. A school must meet five requirements before obtaining Title IV status. They must grant an associate's degree or higher, offer a program of at least 300 clock hours in length, have accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, sign a participation agreement with the Department, and they must be in business for at least 2 years.

Dave School is a 35,000 square foot facility located on the backlot of Universal Studios, with a staff that consists of former Disney animators and other renowned visual effects supervisors. Dave School alumni work (or have worked) in top studios around the country such as DreamWorks, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Activision, Sony Imageworks, and Digital Domain. Their work can be seen in blockbusters such as Avatar, Beowulf, Battlestar Galactica, and The Expendables.

Jacksonville Art Scene

Jacksonville’s underground art scene is a work in progress, but the city’s mainstream art scene is already on the map. Jacksonville is home to large art museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA Jacksonville), Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art (JMoMA), and Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens. The city is also home to dozens of smaller galleries located in the city’s creative center—downtown Jacksonville. Many of the city’s smaller galleries are open to experimental art and emerging artists, while the larger more established museums and galleries are an excellent source of inspiration for aspiring artists of all kinds, including animators.
