According the most recent Institute of Education Sciences (IES) report, the number of Title IV schools per state has increased over the years. Indiana is now home to 109 Title IV degree-granting institutions. To earn Title IV status, an institution must be in business for at least 2 years, they must sign a participation agreement with the Department, they must have accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, they must offer a program of at least 300 clock hours in length, and they must grant an associate's degree or higher. A Title IV school is a post-secondary institution that is eligible for federal financial-aid programs. This makes them more accessible to students with financial need.
