Maine animation schools: most expensive to least expensive

Maine is now home to 30+ Title IV degree-granting institutions. These schools have met five special requirements established by the U.S. Department of Education, making them eligible for Title IV federal financial aid programs. To earn Title IV status, the school must (1) grant an associate's degree or higher, (2) offer a program of at least 300 clock hours in length, (3) have accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, (4) have been in business for at least 2 years, and (5) sign a participation agreement with the Department.

Although young compared to other film offices, the Maine Film Office has assisted the country’s most prolific filmmakers for more than 20 years. Major productions shot in Maine include Forrest Gump, Pet Sematary, Jumamji, The Cider House Rules, and The Preacher’s Wife, to name a few. Many productions that come through the state require a hundreds of crewmembers and artists to assist with everything from animation to post-production. This creates a number of employment opportunities for digital artists and not just in production. Advertising and promotions are also areas where animators’ expertise is needed.
