Profiles of Schools/Colleges in Massachusetts (MA) Offering Animation, Design, Gaming, and Media Related Programs

The city of Boston, Massachusetts features an Internationally famed fine arts culture.  With a thriving commercial economy of many thousand companies, Boston is bursting with opportunities for local visual artists, especially those who show a special talent for innovative illustrative design.

The quaint little city of Worcester, Massachusetts has as many as 18,000 commercial businesses and many hundred local artists.  Technological advances in digital design have increased the local demand for animation professionals.

The Institute of Education Sciences National Center for Education Statistics (IES NCES) has released current figures for post-secondary institutions in the U.S. Massachusetts is now home to 124 Title IV degree-granting institutions. These schools belong to a coveted group of Title IV institutions, but they had to meet five strict requirements to become members. These schools (1) have been in business for at least 2 years (2) have accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (3) have signed a participation agreement with the Department (4) offer a program of at least 300 clock hours in length, and (5) grant an associate's degree or higher. Title IV status means these schools are eligible for Title IV financial aid programs.

Massachusetts is famous for many things. It’s one of the oldest state’s in the U.S., it’s home to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and it is home to Harvard University—North America’s oldest and most prestigious University. Massachusetts also has an energetic art and culture scene. The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) is one of the largest art and culture centers in the U.S. and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts is one of the most coveted in the region, if not the nation.
