According to the latest report by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), North Dakota is now home to 21 Title IV degree-granting colleges and universities. Title IV status makes these schools eligible for financial aid programs. This isn’t the only “status” many North Dakota schools have earned. Several are ranked among the best schools for artists and designers—including animators, multimedia artists, and more.

North Dakota is home to 21 Title IV degree-granting colleges and universities. Each school has met five strict requirements, established by the U.S. Department of Education, which makes them eligible for Title IV financial aid programs. Title IV status is also an excellent indicator of a top-tier school. The five requirements are as follows: (1) Title IV schools have accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, (2) they have been in business for at least 2 years, (3) they have signed a participation agreement with the Department, (4) they grant an associate's degree or higher, and (5) they offer a program of at least 300 clock hours in length.
