According the most recent Institute of Education Sciences (IES) report, the number of Title IV schools per state has increased over the years. Indiana is now home to 109 Title IV degree-granting institutions. To earn Title IV status, an institution must be in business for at least 2 years, they must sign a participation agreement with the Department, they must have accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, they must offer a program of at least 300 clock hours in length, and they must grant an associate's degree or higher. A Title IV school is a post-secondary institution that is eligible for federal financial-aid programs. This makes them more accessible to students with financial need.

Indiana is home to some of the nations top universities. One Indiana school, Notre Dame, is always on the list of the nations top schools. Like other top schools in the state, it offers a world-class graphic design program that accepts only the best. Other top schools, such as Purdue and Indiana University, also make regular appearances on multiple “top schools” lists as well as most “best schools” lists. Indiana’s top schools made the cut based on a variety of factors such as cost, convenience, number and types of clubs, quality of facilities, and variety of social clubs and organizations.

Indiana is perfectly ok with being the underdog, but because it lives in Chicago’s shadow, many artists and graphic designers wonder if the state has what it takes to produce and retain top talent.
