Although small, Vermont is home to more accredited colleges than larger states such as Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, and Rhode Island. The state also has an active art and culture scene and is home to a number of notable art museums such as Shelburne Museum, Fleming Museum of Art at the University of Vermont, Brattleboro Museum & Art Center (showcases regional artists), and Middlebury College Museum of Art.
