The Houston Art Scene

 It’s easy to be an artist in Houston. Although Houston is the largest and one of the most progressive cities in Texas, the Houston art scene isn’t oversaturated. Not only this, but the cost of living is lower than other big cities like Los Angeles and Chicago, and Houston’s local galleries are open to displaying good animation art. New artists are welcome here and a number of arts organizations are devoted to helping them. Houston is also home to ArtStorm, which is a collective organization dedicated to showing a variety of work, and the Houston Film Commission, which attracts productions of all sizes to the area. Until 2010, Houston was home to VT2 Studios—one of the largest production studios in the southwestern United States.
