Texas is not on the outside looking in. The Lone Star State is as much a part of the film scene as any other top ten state and the industry here is growing. More than 1,000 projects have been filmed in Texas over the years, including some of the most controversial films in history. Bonnie and Clyde (1967), Midnight Cowboy (1969), The Last Picture Show (1971), Apollo 13 (1995), Good Will Hunting (1997) Boys Don't Cry (1999), and Kill Bill (2003) are just a few of the best films shot (or partly shot) in the State of Texas.

Texas is one of the world’s most fascinating places to live—and its not just about size. But since we’re on the subject—Texas is the largest state in the contiguous United States. It is around 268,601 square miles and it is home to the country’s second largest population. Texas is also home to the nation’s fourth largest city—Houston, and the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is home to the world’s largest parking lot.

The city of San Antonio, Texas features a prosperous local fine arts culture and a thriving, media-based commercial economy.  Naturally, the city is filled with resident visual artists pursuing careers in the field of graphic design, especially as commercial illustrators.

The city of El Paso, Texas, with a city-limits population of about 650,000, is the 19th largest city in the whole United States.  El Paso is home to thousands of commercial business, including hundreds of media producers and more than seventy Fortune 500 companies.  Many talented El Paso artists enjoy steady employment as multimedia editors at various local businesses.
