As mentioned, digital media artists work in a variety of fields from multimedia art and animation to advertising and film and video. With a total population of 110,390, Texas is home to the nation’s third largest population of professionals in these fields. The average salary for the combined group—Arts, Design, Entertainment, Sports, and Media (ADESM), is $49,250 per year, up from $45,730 in 2012 when Texas was home to 106,350 people working in ADESM occupations.
To give you an idea of what digital media artists earn by industry, take a look at the following Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) figures:
- Digital media artists in the multimedia and animation industry in Texas can expect to average $56,990 per year. The state is home to 1,590 professionals in this field.
- Digital media artists in the graphic design industry can expect to earn an average of $45,530 annually. The state is home to an impressive 11,780 graphic designers.
