Scope of Program:
Goucher College's low-residency M. A. program in Digital Arts combines distance learning, two one-week residencies per year and collaborative learning experiences to provide a unique program emphasizing art, technology and management for the Digital Age. Students focus on digital ethics and intellectual property, media on the internet, audio production, sound design, 2D and 3D design for media, interactivity, video and free and open source art and technology. Students also complete management coursework, including financial skills, communications, leadership and self-development and organizational management. All students complete a capstone project and create a portfolio.
Digital Arts students must purchase a computer; Apple Macintosh computers are strongly recommended. A portfolio is required with the application. A limited number of scholarships are available for the Digital Arts program.
