Scope of Program:
Illinois State University offers three types of Graphic Design undergraduate degrees. B. F. A. candidates are required to create a solo exhibition, oral presentation and exit portfolio. B. A. and B. S. candidates may offer a solo exhibition if time and space permit. All Graphic Design students take core courses in art history, digital media, 2D and 3D design and graphic design history. Elective courses include graphic design for the Web, topics in graphic design and packaging and display. Students also prepare a portfolio.
Admission to Illinois State University's Graphic Design program is very competitive. Students must pass a portfolio review during their second semester. Internships and scholarships are available. Illinois State University offers a "four year freeze" tuition guarantee to incoming freshmen.
