Scope of Program:
Students at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne may choose one of three concentrations – computer art/design, graphic design or photography – in the Visual Communication and Design program. All students take foundation courses in color, 2D and 3D design, digital imaging and photography. A portfolio review is required for admission to the B. F. A. program; this review is typically conducted after two years of study. Computer Art/Design students focus on mastering various software applications, such as QuarkXpress, Illustrator, Maya, Mudbox, Photoshop and InDesign, and on storytelling, video editing, computer animation and 3D modeling. Graphic Design students take courses in illustration, typography, graphic design studio, packaging design and display design. All students complete a senior project and create a senior exhibition.
