Scope of Program:
Indiana University Southeast offers both a B. A. and B. F. A. in Fine Arts. Students may choose a Graphic Design concentration in either program. All Fine Arts students begin with foundation coursework in drawing, 2D and 3D design, art history and computer art. Graphic Design students continue with courses in graphic and web design and digital media. Students must pass a sophomore portfolio review and an exhibition review at the end of the junior year. Computer Graphics Technology students concentrate on sketching, design for visual and communication, Internet foundations and raster and vector imaging. After this foundational sequence, students continue with coursework in multimedia authoring, digital lighting and rendering, digital video and audio, human-computer interaction theory and computer animation.
Informatics students take foundation courses in cybersecurity, information infrastructure and social informatics, then continue with coursework in organizational informatics, multimedia arts and technology and cognate (specialization area) studies. Students must either complete an internship, participate in a capstone project or write a thesis.
Need-based, merit and fine arts scholarships are available. Kentucky residents living in Bullitt, Jefferson, Meade, Oldham and Trimble counties are eligible for in-state tuition rates.
