Scope of Program:
Kennesaw State University requires Visual Arts students to complete two foundation courses before they are allowed to apply for admission to the major. Foundation courses include 2D design and color theory, 3D design, drawing and computer applications in art. Entrance portfolios are required as part of the Visual Arts program application process. Students must submit a second portfolio in order to be admitted to their chosen concentrations. Graphic Communication students then focus on typography, publication design, pre-press and image manipulation, design strategy, digital design and electronic illustration. Students must create a senior portfolio and submit an applied graphic communication project.
Kennesaw State University offers academic merit and need-based scholarships, including art scholarships. Georgia residents should also apply for the HOPE Scholarship.
