Scope of Program:
Graphic Design students at Marymount University may choose the Visual Communication or Web Design Emphasis. Students focus on drawing, design, art history, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, WordPress, motion graphics, video editing, illustration digital imaging, electronic publishing, typography, web design, electronic media, performance media laboratory and graphic design studio. All students create a portfolio and complete an internship.
Information Technology students may specialize in Interactive Media. Students concentrate on information technology in the Global Age, personal security in the Digital Age, computer technology, software engineering, computer networking, web development, statistics, discrete mathematics, finite mathematics, software quality assurance, documentation and testing, business ethics, project management, human computer interaction, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, WordPress, digital imaging, web design, video production and performance media laboratory. All students create a capstone project and complete an internship.
Marymount University is a Roman Catholic university. Graphic Design students must purchase a personal computer (Apple Macintosh computers are strongly recommended), printer and required graphic design software. Merit, need-based, service and Catholic high school scholarships are available. Virginia residents are encouraged to apply for state-sponsored grants and scholarships.
