Scope of Program:
Graphic Design students at Ohio University complete coursework in graphic design principles, typography, 3D studies, digital visualizing, descriptive drawing, system and color and form and content. All students must pass a sophomore year portfolio review in order to be admitted to the major. Students complete junior and senior studios and a practicum. All students create a B. F. A. exhibition.
Digital Media students at Ohio University focus on telecommunications, business of media, global media systems, media analysis and criticism, multimedia production, media management, computer animation, motion graphics, 3D modeling and animation, video production and editing, game development and digital game production.
M. F. A. candidates in the Graphic Design program concentrate on graphic design studio work, art history and thesis research. All students must pass a first-year candidacy review and complete either an assistantship, internship or study abroad experience. All students create a thesis and related presentation.
A portfolio is required with the application to the B. F. A. and M. F. A. programs. Art, merit and need-based scholarships are available. M. F. A. candidates may apply for teaching assistantships and graduate tuition waivers.
