Scope of Program:
Animation Students at Philadelphia University concentrate on integrative design processes, drawing, business methods, graphic design, figure drawing, 3D modeling, animation, storytelling and storyboarding, 3D animation, motion graphics, history of animation and business law. All students participate in a junior seminar and complete a capstone project.
Graphic Design Communication students focus on drawing, integrative design processes, typography, photography for graphic design, web design and strategy, history of graphic design, business models, marketing communication, systems design integration and branding and corporate identity. All students complete a capstone project.
Interactive Design and Media students complete coursework in design foundations, drawing, integrative design processes, web design and strategy, graphic design, business models, art history, e-commerce, and integrative design. All students create a capstone project.
Master's degree candidates in Interactive Design and Media complete either a two year or three year program, depending on their prior education and experience. Students concentrate on digital experience design, digital innovation design, database management, interactive narrative and drama, and theory of electronic communication. All students complete a digital design synthesis project.
All Graphic Design Communication students must purchase a laptop computer, netbook or tablet. A portfolio is required with the application to the M. S. program. Merit and need-based scholarships are available. Some graduate assistantships may be available, depending on funding.
