At Full Sail University, students can expect a hands-on education designed to prepare them for a career in their chosen industry. Full Sail’s courses are taught by instructors with industry experience, and the projects that come through Full Sail’s doors can give students hands-on experience to help build their professional portfolios.
Full Sail has been recognized on several Animation Career Review top lists over the years for focus areas like animation, AR/VR, game design, graphic design, and UX/UI/HCI.
Full Sail course instructors must have a minimum of four years of work and industry experience that’s related to the courses they teach. Instructors must also complete a certain number of continuing education hours each year to stay relevant in their field. In addition, the university looks for personal traits like empathy, communication skills, creativity, and commitment in its instructors.
Florida Film Festival: Full Sail has been involved with the Florida Film Festival – an Oscar-qualifying festival that screens independent films from around the world – for 28 years, and has served as the festival’s primary sponsor for 22 years.
NACE Grand Finals: Full Sail recently hosted the 2025 National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) Grand Finals on campus. Eight of North America’s top collegiate esports teams competed in titles like League of Legends, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Overwatch 2, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and more. Students from multiple Full Sail degree programs – including Film, Show Production, and Game Business & Esports – were involved in everything from staging and production to sportscasting and content creation. Additionally, two Full Sail students were awarded $10,000 each by NACE to use toward their educational goals.
TNA iMPACT: Two TNA iMPACT pro wrestling events were hosted at Full Sail this year. The first event was broadcast live, while multiple live-to-tape episodes were recorded at the second event. Ten Full Sail graduates were hired for key production positions for the broadcasts, and a team of student volunteers was involved in the customer service aspects of running the live event, including ticketing, ushering, and setting up the post-show Meet & Greet event.
EA Madden Championship Series: Fourteen of the country’s top Madden players competed for a share of a $1 million prize pool for the MCS 2025 Playoffs on Full Sail’s campus. Sixty students from degree programs including Show Production, Film, Recording Arts, Game Business & Esports, and Sportscasting gained real-world experience working behind the scenes during the three-day professional esports event. They contributed to stage management, camera operation, lighting, audio roles, and more, helping bring the production to more than 100,000 viewers across Twitch and YouTube.
WWE Shoots Content at Full Sail: The WWE – whose partnership with Full Sail has spanned 13 years – used Studio V1, Full Sail’s virtual production studio, to film segments for their two Netflix shows, WWE RAW Classics and Road to WrestleMania. Students and graduates gained hands-on production experience, helping create content for both shows on the studios’ 40-foot-wide LED wall.
