Scope of Program:
Art students at Salisbury University begin their studies with foundation courses in design principles, digital photography, drawing, painting, art history and art studio. Graphic design students then focus on graphic design history, illustration, typography, 3D design and graphic design agency. All graphic design students must complete an internship. New Media students concentrate on digital design and layout, video production, web design, screen graphics, audio production, storyboarding and motion graphics. Bachelor of Arts degree candidates must complete two semesters of foreign language study.
Salisbury University does not require SAT or ACT test scores from applicants with a weighted grade point average of 3.50 or higher, provided the applicant has taken a "strong course load" that includes honors and/or advanced placement courses. Art scholarships, typically ranging from $300 to $500, are available, as are merit and need-based scholarships. Maryland residents are encouraged to apply for state-sponsored scholarships and grants.
