Tecnológico de Monterrey

Tecnológico de Monterrey (Tec de Monterrey) houses a Digital Arts BA program with sixteen concentrations. Examples include Stop Motion, Video Game Design, Digital Modeling and Sculpture, Illustration and Sequential Narrative, and Film Production and Direction. Graduates are prepared to pursue careers in animation and film, game design, television production, advertising, scientific visualization, legal animation, architecture, learning and development (L&D), and medical animation.

2. Escena Escuela de Animación y Digital Arte, Mexico City, Mexico
Escena Escuela de Animación y Digital Arte

Escena Escuela de Animación y Digital Arte is a Toon Boom Center of Excellence that houses the Escena Animation Studio (ESA)—a professional production space where students can create short films in teams and with studio professors. ESA also provides opportunities for students to join the studio as production assistants. In addition to the ESA, the school houses a Digital Animation bachelor's degree program that covers the entire animation production pipeline in the first year. Graduates are prepared to pursue advanced roles in the entertainment industry, game design, and advertising, among others.

Universidad del Valle de México (UVM) provides a bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Design that focuses on animation and digital design techniques such as motion graphics animation, 2D and 3D animation, interactive design, digital interfaces, graphic design, and the creative process. The program can be completed in four years and six months in Mexico City and campuses in Baja California, Neuvo Leon, and Yucatan, among others. Graduates are prepared to pursue careers in film, game art and design, television production, and advertising.

Universidad Tecnológica de México (UNITEC) houses a Digital Design and Animation bachelor’s degree program that provides an academic scholarship of up to 50% for students interested in this pathway. Delivered in a hybrid format, the program explores digital animation, game design, visual effects, screenwriting, audiovisual production, data visualization, programming, augmented reality, and design project management. Graduates are prepared to pursue advanced roles in the entertainment and games industries, among others. 

5. Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City, Mexico
Universidad Panamericana

Universidad Panamericana (UP) is home to the School of Engineering. Founded in 1979, the school is the only academic unit of its kind in Mexico to combine computer science and digital art. The schools Animation and Video Game Engineering bachelor’s degree explores special effects, web platforms, 2D animation, mobile applications, 3D animation, graphic simulations, and digital illustration. Graduates have been hired at places such as Blizzard Entertainment, Netflix, Anima, Mojang Studios (Minecraft), HyperBeard, Cluster, Mainframe Studios, Ollin VFX, and Icon Creative Studio.
