The College of Design at North Carolina State University (NC State University) houses the Bachelor of Graphic and Experience Design (BGXD) and Master of Graphic and Experience Design (MGXD) programs. The College of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma State University (OSU) houses the Department of Art, Graphic Design and Art History, which has two paths to study graphic design: the Art BFA with a Graphic Design option and a Graphic Design MFA. OSU’s Institute of Technology (OSUIT) has an additional option—the Graphic Design Technology AAS. The MFA is the only graduate program in Oklahoma that specializes in interaction design, visual communications, and motion design. The College of Liberal Arts at Colorado State University (CSU or Colorado State) houses one of the school’s largest academic departments—Art and Art History. Within the department are the Art Studio BFA and MFA programs. The BFA has a Graphic Design concentration. The MFA has a Graphic Design specialization. The College of Design at Iowa State University (Iowa State) is home to the Department of Graphic Design (GD), which houses the only public Graphic Design BFA in the state of Iowa. Other program options include the Experiential Graphic Design MA (MAxGD) and MFA, and a dual GD MFA/Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) MS—provided in partnership with the VRAC Research Center. The School of Visual Art and Design (SVAD) at University of South Carolina (USC) is the largest art school in the state. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the school houses a Studio Art Program leading to a BA or BFA. Students may concentrate in one of seven areas. The Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design (SOAAD) at Indiana University Bloomington (IU Bloomington) has a Studio Art Program with BA, BFA, and MFA options. California State University-Long Beach (CSULB or Cal State Long Beach) houses the School of Art (SoA). This is CSULB’s largest school. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) since 1970, the SoA has a Graphic Design BFA program that highlights summer study abroad workshops in places such as Berlin and Prague; internships at local and national companies; the guest artist series; and the opportunity to display works across seven customizable galleries.
