1. The Animation Workshop - VIA University College, Viborg, Denmark
VIA University College (VIA) houses The Animation Workshop (TAW)—home to the largest animation festival in Denmark. Launched in 1988, TAW provides short programs in everything from Unreal Engine (one week) to 3D Character Animation (10 weeks). Formal training options include BA degrees in Character Animation; Computer Graphic Arts (CGA); and Graphic Storytelling. All TAW students will gain valuable experience working at a production studio such as Aardman or Illumination.
2. The Royal Danish Academy, Copenhagen, Denmark
The Royal Danish Academy provides an MA in Visual Game and Media Design that focuses on animation, motion graphics, storytelling, and digital games. A major component of the program is the opportunity to collaborate with students from the National Film School of Denmark. The program culminates with the Master’s Thesis Project and Exhibition. Graduates of the Royal Danish Academy have been hired at places such as Unity, Lego, BetaDwarf, and IO Interactive (IOI).
