Southern Arkansas University

Established in 1909, Southern Arkansas University (SAU) serves more than 3,500 students enrolled in more than 80 degree programs in four distinct colleges and the School of Graduate Studies. The College of Liberal and Performing Arts offers a variety of majors and minors from six distinct departments. The Art & Design Department offers a Game, Animation, and Simulation BFA that covers 3D animation techniques as well as production and management of game environments. Some of the courses students can expect to take in this degree program include 3D Design, 2D Design, 3D Character Rigging, Game Design Management, Physics of Animation, Basic Digital Photography, and Advanced Level Game Design Project.

In addition to 3D animation techniques, and production and management of game environments, students in the BFA program are trained for a broad variety of scenarios that require prototyping 3D designs for manufacturers of medical equipment, transportation, and the military.

Graduates of the program will be able to communicate orally, visually and in written form to support a visual art or design decision and critically analyze visual design problems, synthesize information and create pieces with corresponding written or oral language to support their outcomes. They will understand art in terms of its civic and ethical impact and be able to employ traditional art techniques and technological knowledge necessary to work in the art and design community.
