1. Haute Ecole Albert Jacquard, Namur, Belgium
Haute Ecole Albert Jacques (HEAJ) houses a Bachelor in Graphic Techniques program with options in 2D Digital Animation Drawing; 3D Animated Film; and 3D Visual Effects (VFX). All students will participate in workshops, collaborative projects, and a three-month internship in the final year of the program. Graduates are prepared to pursue titles such as 3D Animator, VFX Artist, and Artistic Director.
2. Howest University of Applied Sciences, Kortrijk, Belgium
Howest University of Applied Sciences has a 3D Animation program that highlights guest speakers; study trips; an 18-week internship; partnerships with major companies and studios; and full week of to participate in the game or film jam. This hands-on program leads to a bachelor’s degree in Digital Art and Entertainment (DAE). Graduates are prepared to pursue titles such as Character Animator, Rigging Artist, Character Modeler, 3D Artist, and Technical Artist. Program alumni have been hired by just about every DAE partner.
3. LUCA School of Arts, Brussels, Belgium
LUCA School of Arts houses a one-year, full-time Animation master’s degree program that features study trips to museums and the ANIMA animation film festival; and guest lectures and seminars by industry professionals. The program culminates with the master’s project, thesis, and exhibition. Graduates have gone on to teach, launch their own freelance businesses and studios, or pursue leadership roles at major companies and studios in Germany and abroad.
