The Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at University of West Bohemia (UWB) provides two paths to study animation. Options include a Bachelor of Creative Arts (BCA) in Animation and the Animation Art MA. Across programs students benefit from opportunities to collaborate on projects with students in the Faculty of Applied Sciences; access to state-of-the-art production facilities; the option to complete an internship; and participation in the UWB job fair, which attracts more than 100 companies seeking talent. The BCA culminates with a final project. The MA culminates with a thesis project. Graduates are prepared to pursue roles with places with as 2K Games, Warhorse Studios, SCS Software, and Bohemia Interactive.
2. Film Academy of Miroslav Ondříček in Písek, Pisek, Czech Republic
Film Academy of Miroslav Ondříček in Písek (FAMO) provides a variety of programs leading to a certificate, diploma, bachelor's, or master's degree. Led by industry Led by industry professionals and award-winning filmmakers, programs highlight specializations in areas such as Animation, Screenwriting, Special Effects, and Directing. Animation programs explore traditional, digital, and experimental animation, with the option to focus in one or all areas. Programs culminate with a final project (animated short). Graduates can be found at places such as CEE Animation, Phoenix Film, Alventio, and Česká televize (Czech Television).
3. Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Prague, Czech Republic
Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM) houses the Studio of Animation and Film. Studio programs are interdisciplinary, with opportunities to collaborate on projects and complete an internship. Other program highlights include small class sizes; courses taught by industry professionals; access to state-of-the-art production facilities; and participation in exhibitions at the Academy and abroad. Leading to a bachelor's or master's degree, programs culminate with a final project and exhibition.
