1. Noroff Instituttet, Kristiansand, Norway
Noroff Instituttet (Noroff) provides several paths to study animation including the Bachelor in Interactive Media: Animation or Games, and professional degree programs in 3D Art and Games Technology; 3D Art and Games Technology – Interactive; and 3D Art and Games Technology – Content Creation. Programs culminate with a final project and portfolio. Graduates are prepared to pursue advanced roles in animation, live action film, game design, advertising, and other creative sectors.
2. Volda University College, Volda, Norway,
Volda University College (VUC) is home to the oldest Animation bachelor’s degree in the Nordic countries. This studio-based program highlights individual and team projects, lectures, and guidance from instructors. Examples of areas explored include hand-drawn animation, storytelling, digital animation, stop-motion, and animation production. Graduates of the VUC Animation program have gone on the work for major studios and produce their own independent films and animated web-series.
3. Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences, Hamar, Norway
The Faculty of Film, TV and Games at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN) houses the Department of Game Development-Game School. Within the department is an Animation and Digital Art program with three specializations including 3D Animation; Digital Art and Motion Design; and 3D Art and Generalization. Leading to a bachelor’s degree, this three-year program trains students to create animations for films, games, digital installations, architecture, commercials, interactive simulations, internet applications, user interface design, online advertising, art, and 3D visualization. Graduates are prepared to pursue careers in areas such as animation, live-action films, game design, and advertising.
