1. Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art, Lucerne, Switzerland
The Lucerne School of Art and Design is one of the seven schools of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU). As the oldest School of Art and Design in Switzerland, it offers a holistic approach to animation studies. Students on the BA programme learn all aspects of animation, CGI, 2D, stop motion, sound and compositing before they specialise. They can prepare for a career as an artistic auteur filmmaker or for the animation industry. The Master's programme enables students to deepen their personal language and skills in animated film.
2. Les Maîtres du Monde, Nyon, Switzerland
Les Maîtres du Monde (MDM) is the first Swiss school to provide training in motion design, virtual worlds, and special effects. Sponsored by Conceptual Designer for The Lord of the Rings John Howe, MDM provides a Bachelor and Master of Digital Art. The undergraduate program has specializations in Virtual Worlds, and Motion Design and Special Effects. The graduate program features masterclasses, led by industry professionals from major productions such as Call of Duty and The Hobbit. Programs culminate with a final project. Graduates are prepared to pursue careers in fields such as animation, live-action film, games, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), television production, and advertising.
