The College of Arts and Sciences at University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) houses the Department of Art, which has a BA Program that allows students to select an emphasis in areas such as Graphic Design, Illustration, or Printmaking. A BFA Program with the option to create a concentration area is also available.
Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the UAA BA Program provides the option to declare a minor in another discipline. Examples include Computer Science, Psychology, or Journalism and Public Communications. This studio-based program also features workshops, internship and study abroad opportunities, artist lectures, and the opportunity to participate in exhibitions on the UAA campus and in the community.
Graduates of the BA Program at University of Alaska Anchorage are prepared for graduate study or positions in advertising, publishing, entertainment, marketing, education, public relations, and web design.
